Swaney Lineage


David Swaney (b. 2-1815)
Born in North Carolina but his parents were born in Virginia according to the 1900 Census; his residence in 1880 was in Gilmer County, GA. He and his wife are buried in the old Smith cemetery in Gilmer County. His grave marker shows that he served in the Civil War with Company E, 7th Tennessee Mounted Infantry.  There is a C.S.A. marker on the grave.
